The little town of Houma, Louisiana has been harboring a secret beneath the home of Samantha and Donald Pontierre for nearly 20 years. Over the ensuing time, the couple’s lives have continued to sink into the swamp land that surrounds the family. A wandering religious visitor named Grace attempts to reshape this broken, misshapen household in God’s image, while along the way the line between reality and fantasy begins to blur. The family unit is the center of this Depression-era drama, where soaring dreams have become buried under the weight of life’s greater expectations.
